How Exercise Diminishes Stress Studies have shown that exercise can benefit you from a variety of psychological and physical effects, including depression and anxiety; and that it can be even more effective than anti-anxiety medication. It does this in many different ways. Exercise gives your body what it needs to defeat stress: a physical exercise that helps us get out of the fight-or-flight mode. I have been walking or biking nearly every day for the past three weeks and I am feeling much less anxious. When we exercise, levels of different stress hormones rise, such as cortisol and adrenailine , which go up for a short time while exercising. And at the same time, these stress hormones also rise when we are psychologically stressed. The exact same physiological response . I have been either walking or biking every day since all of this Coronavirus has started. Because I have been doing daily aerobic activity I have been sleeping better, having better daily blood sugar results, and less anxiety We all are going through daily MSDs ( Micro-Stress-Doses ) every minute of every day due to this virus. Human beings are not constructed to deal with MSDs in a pro-longed state. When that happens it can turn into chronic diseases like arthritis, cardiac disease, diabetes 2, depression, high blood pressure and other chroniuc conditions.
